In the area of Varysburg, NY, about thirty miles southeast of Buffalo, and definitely in the snow belt is the network of trails maintained by the Folsom Trailblazers. The Folsom Trailblazers snowmobile club is a large active club with three industrial groomers. With good snow conditions, riding on these trails is as good as any place in Ontario or the Adirondacks. Just east of NY 77 on Rt 20A there is extensive parking for trailers available at Byrncliff Resort as well as a large bar and restaurant. For those wanting to extend their stay, they also have a motel rooms available. There is excellent riding in the area with a choice of several other good "pit stops". In addition to Byrncliff, several of our favorite stops are The Flip Side in Strykersville, The North Java Inn, Smokey's Tavern in Java Center, The Bennington Bar & Grill (formerly Bennington Lanes), and JW's Hotel in Attica. There is also a trail to Varysburg now to the C&G for gas and food and with a quick shot down the road, the Varysburg Hotel. For fuel, there are limited hour gas stations in Attica, North Java, and Java Center. The Red Apple/Kwik Fill in Strykersville is open 24/7. C&G in Varysburg also has 24 hour "pay at the pump". It's in the works! The trail maintenance building has come a long way in the past year. The concrete and electric is finished and work is ongoing for some additions inside including a repair bay.
